West Clare Triathlon Club

Tri it. Do it. Own it.

West Clare Triathlon Club was formed in November 2011. We’re based in West Clare, with members from all parts of West Clare, predominantly the Kilrush and Kilkee area.

Our club is about supporting experienced athletes and introducing and encouraging beginners and novice athletes into the future.  Having the club hub based close to the athletes gives greater access and structure to training and support. Our members include people training for their first sprint distance race, experienced triathletes chasing National Series honours and seasoned campaigners preparing for long distance events.

On Sunday 9th June 2013 we host our ‘UP THE CREEK’ sprint triathlon. This race has proven to be hugely successful, attracting athletes who are new to the sport and those looking for an exciting challenge. The guaranteed calm open water swim of 750m, in our blue flag Marina, is perfect for first time triathletes and is also great for athletes trying to achieve a personal best swim time. The 21 km bike is a rewarding challenge and the 5 km run is fast paced but enjoyable.

Up the Creek is now open for entries!

On Sunday 10th March 2013, we held our inaugural West Clare Duathlon,  in Doonbeg, Co. Clare. It was the first race in the newly formed Clare Duathlon Series. The second race was held in Ennis on Sunday 24th March  (hosted by Ennis Triathlon Club) and the third race in the series was held  in Killaloe on Sunday 7th April  (hosted by Boru Triathlon Club).

We welcome all membership, young and old, at all levels of ability, so please don’t hesitate to contact us! We look forward to hearing from you and hope to welcome you to West Clare Triathlon Club.
